Corrections, disputes and removals

Australia-wide Custom Home Builder Guide is an independent directory of custom home builders operating across Australia. Every listing draws on publicly available business information, and every score is calculated from Google reviews using the same published method applied uniformly to all builders. Listing your business here is free, and no payment or fee can ever change your score or your position in the rankings. This page explains how to correct factual details, dispute a score, or request removal of your listing. See our rubric for the full scoring rubric.

Correcting factual details

Business name, street address, phone number, website, opening hours, and services listed are corrected when you supply the correct information along with a way to verify it. A link to your Google Business Profile, your website, or a current business registration serves as verification. Once a correction is applied, it stays in place through future data refreshes and updates.

Disputing your score

Scores are never edited by hand. A dispute is a claim that the underlying data is wrong, for example that your listing was matched to the wrong business, that reviews were attributed incorrectly, or that a review summary misrepresents what reviewers actually wrote. When you raise a dispute, the source data and matching are checked again, and your listing is regenerated. A dispute is not a request for a higher number, and arguing that the score should be better will not change it.

Requesting removal

Your listing is removed if your business has permanently closed, if it is a duplicate entry, or if it falls outside the scope of this directory. The directory also runs a verification cycle each month that catches and removes closed businesses automatically. A listing that is accurate and within scope will not be removed, and you will receive a clear explanation of why.

How long it takes

Every request receives an acknowledgment within 5 business days. Removal requests that are confirmed are carried out within 7 days. Requests that are declined come with a reason.
